What Happens During a Chemical Peel?

In the Epionce chemical peel procedure, certain ingredients are applied on the treatment area. These ingredients will improve the texture of your skin, making it smoother by dissolving dead skin cells and cleaning out pores.

Epionce's chemical peels contain malic acid, salicylic acid and signature botanical ingredients.

Sun screens are strongly recommended with all Chemical Skin Peel treatments. Skin pores may appear larger, and the skin may not tan evenly following a chemical peel.

  • Skin Tags (also known as acrochordon or fibroepithelial polyps)
Skin Tags (also known as acrochordon or fibroepithelial polyps) are small benign tumors that form primarily in areas where the skin forms creases, such as the neck, armpit, and groin. They may also occur on the face, usually on the eyelids. Skin tags are harmless and typically painless, and do not grow or change over time. The surface of an skin tags may be smooth or irregular in appearance, and they may become irritated by shaving, clothing or jewelry.
  • Sebaceous Hyperplasia
Sebaceous Hyperplasia is a disorder of the sebaceous glands in which they become enlarged, producing yellow, shiny bumps on the face, mainly on the forehead, nose and cheeks, and sebarrhoeic facial skin. They are commonly associated with hair follicles but they can be found in hairless regions of the skin as well. Sebaceous hyperplasia generally affect middle-aged to elderly adults and are also a natural response to pregnancy hormones.
  • Brown/Sun/Liver Spots
Brown/Sun/Liver Spots are blemishes on the skin associated with aging and exposure to ultraviolet light. They range in color from light brown to red or black and are located in areas most often exposed to the sun, particularly the hands, face, shoulders, arms and forehead, and the scalp if bald. Liver spots are very common in people over 40, particularly in those who spend time in sun. They have occasionally been known to obscure the detection of skin cancer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is a good candidate for Chemical Peel?

Chemical Peel works best for anyone with small, benign skin concerns such as broken capillaries (spider veins), skin tags, sebaceous hyperplasia, cherry angiomas, actinic keratosis, or xanthelasma.
Because it’s an exact, non‑invasive procedure, it’s suitable for most healthy adults who want to remove these issues. If you have any active skin infections or certain medical conditions, we will review your health history with you to ensure the safety and efficacy of having Chemical Peel treatments.

How many sessions will I need to see results?

Many patients see significant improvement in just one treatment, especially for smaller lesions like cherry angiomas or skin tags. For larger areas, such as clusters of broken capillaries or actinic keratoses, 2–3 sessions spaced a few weeks apart may yield the best results. Our expert will assess your skin during a consultation and tailor a session plan to your needs.

How long does a Chemical Peel session take?

A typical Chemical Peel appointment lasts around 15–30 minutes, depending on the number and size of the treated area. Because the probe is tiny and highly focused, each area is treated within seconds. You can expect a quick procedure with virtually no downtime.

Are the results of Chemical Peel permanent?

Yes—Chemical Peel permanently destroys the targeted tissue (for example, a skin tag or broken capillary) by dehydrating it at a microscopic level. Once the treated lesion has healed and the body naturally clears the tiny remnants, it does not typically recur in that exact spot. However, new lesions of the same type (e.g., new spider veins or skin tags) can develop elsewhere over time, so some patients return periodically for maintenance.

Is Chemical Peel safe?

Absolutely. It uses a low‑level current delivered through a fine probe on the skin’s surface.

When performed by trained professionals, adverse effects are minimal. You may experience only a tiny pinpoint of heat or a slight tingling, and most people resume their normal activities immediately afterward. Our experts will review after‑care steps to ensure optimal healing and comfort.
